Penny: The Wave 2

With the Rhino file ready to go I met with Andrew to set up the file for CnC milling.

This image shows the pattern being set into the ‘foam block’.

The cuts are made into the foam block in 3 stages. This image  illustrates the first (Parallel finishing) in which drill piece 1 cuts the foam down to the wave surface.

The second stage involves the engraving of the surface pattern:

The third and final stage is with a lager drill piece and makes the deeper engraved cuts into the foam surface:

Now I just need to pick off the loose bits of foam to neaten it up and I will post some pictures of my finished wave!
